Mom’s Night Out At City Works In Disney Springs

The Winter Garden Moms recently visited City Works in Disney Springs and we sure were “hoppy” about it! City Works is known for its extensive craft beer selection with more than 90 varieties on tap.

Drink Options

If you aren’t sure what to try, City Works offers beer flights which come with four 6-ounce beers of your choice. Some of our favorites were the Orange Blossom Pilsner, brewed right here in Orlando; the Hefeweissbier, from the oldest brewery in the world in Germany; and the Strawberry Orange Mimosa, which truly does taste like its namesake.

And if you aren’t a fan of beer, City Works has quite the cocktail menu selection. We loved the Frosé, a frozen cocktail made up of Rosé wine, strawberries, lemon juice and simple syrup.

Bar Bites

With what has to be one of the biggest bars in Disney Springs, it’s no surprise City Works has a section on the menu called Bar Bites. We tried the Cheese Curds, which is a creamy white cheddar cheese breaded with cornmeal batter and served with smoked tomato coulis for dipping. So, so good!

I’m seriously in love with this part of the menu and can’t wait to go back and try the other Bar Bites selections, such as the Pretzel Bites, the Popcorn Chicken and the Fried Pickles.

The Main Event

But if you think City Works is only good for a few pre-dinner drinks and apps, think again. City Works offers traditional American fare but with a sophisticated twist. We thoroughly enjoyed sampling a variety of menu items including the Salmon and Filet Mignon Sliders.

The pan-seared salmon was accompanied by a butternut squash puree, fingerling potatoes, salsa verde and succotash. The salmon had a light, sweet glaze that caramelized during the searing. It took the dish to the next level in terms of taste and texture. We absolutely loved this entrée!

The Filet Mignon Sliders entrée came with two sliders, topped with caramelized onions and horseradish cream on a pretzel roll. The filet medallions were so tender they nearly melted in my mouth. The entrée comes with olive oil parsley fries, which were also tasty.

Sweet Ending

With only a little room left in our bellies, we decided to split the Baked Cookie Dough.

This dessert is presented in a cast iron skillet with a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie, chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It was all the rich, chocolate goodness we were looking for in a dessert!

The Atmosphere

In addition to the fabulous drink selection and delicious food, City Works offers an upbeat and entertaining space. It has 17 tv screens that are enough to keep any sports fan happy. The two humongous bars, one inside and one wrapping around the outside of the restaurant, make it an ideal destination for guests wanting to kick back in a lively atmosphere with great food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Winter Garden Moms night out at City Works and can’t wait to go back!
